Alessio Lisci: “We Have a Ton to Enjoy Today”

Osasuna’s head coach praised today’s victory and reaching 42 points

Osasuna head coach Alessio Lisci addressed the media following his team's 2-1 victory over Sevilla. "What we need to do right now is step on the gas, play with intelligence, and aim to recreate the atmosphere from the Madrid match next weekend," Lisci said. "A great team is coming, but if any club, team and fanbase can do it, it's us," the Italian coach added. "We have to really enjoy today, and when we return to training, we need to stay focused because this isn't over."

Lisci highlighted the importance of the late win and Osasuna's near-guaranteed survival: "Hard work never lies. You have to work, and in the end, things come together. Today, it happened very late, but looking at the match, it was tough to keep the game flowing consistently." He continued, "This win belongs to the players, and now we are practically safe. We have to value it highly because we've achieved this with five matches left in such a tight league."

The Italian coach also emphasized the contribution of the substitutes: "Raúl [Garcia] scored a great goal and had another clear chance, but everyone contributed a lot today. Moi [Gomez] also completely changed the game, reading everything ahead of the others and giving us more options—he was a key substitution." Lisci congratulated the entire bench, adding, "What we lacked in the first half of the season was that squad depth, which we used much more in the second half. These are players who train well and can really make an impact."

Regarding Osasuna's upcoming challenges, Lisci said, "Next up is Barcelona. I can't talk about anything beyond that—we have to stay focused on that match, keep pushing, and play with that sense of urgency." He added, "Everyone has a lot on the line at this stage of the season, and we have to match that level."
